"Minimum Vital have released the awesome Sarabandes and Esprit d'Amor, and Pavanes is almost as good. Pavanes, it's great folk and medieval music. For all fans of Gryphon, Jethro Tull or Mike Oldfield, here it is. From the groovy Ende Limbo, Le Tourdion and Chanter Toujours, the more rock Rodéo or Javary & Montago and the totally folk songs Soleil Dén, Suite Ibérique, Folkish or L'Enfance Des Sages. And more, it's a double album. Two discs, and theres no weak songs. The only default is that i'm not a big fan of medieval and folk music, so a double album of this sound it's a little bit too much for me. But it's still great, and the musicians are awesome."

"Since 1985, brothers Thierry and Jean-Luc Payssan have been refining a crisply dynamic blend of medieval-inspired music with liberal quantities of vintage prog sounds rubbing up against Middle Eastern-infused modes. In lesser hands it could make for an ungainly stilistic mariage. Yet the seamless integration between ethnic and electronic instrumentation, combined with a stirring rhytmic momentum, makes for a bracing and enjoyable union. Many of the squeaky-synth settings and textures used by Thierry enjoy a Wakeman-esque flourish, sometimes revealling in a similarly opulent grandeur. Jean Luc coaxes frantic dervish-like melodies from his twin-neck 12 and six string Ovation guitar. A subtle Celtic/Breton inflection occasionally evokes the freewheeling pelt of Alan Stivell or Dan Ar Braz in the course of the six tightly-drilled pieces here. Augmented by three extra studio tracks and rehearsal footage, the virtues of their supple technique are elegantly expressed. Intelligent editing ensures the driving excitement of this French trio's music is experly and engagingly showcased. (Sid Smith - PROG magazine)"
"Minimum Vital opens the 25-song set with a more buoyantly upbeat reading of the title track to Üdü Wüdü (Seventh, 1976), as nylon-string guitar, electric bass, and hand percussion support Kobaïan singing that possesses less of its inherent gravitas.
(musea)"
"Two lead singers (one male, one female), drums, guitar, mandolin, keyboards, bass : this is a band that is often on the lighter side of prog rock, but there is a joy within the music … This is music to get lost in, with elements of bands as diverse as Tull or Gentle Giant, yet there is a sheer beauty and pleasure within it that is rarely heard. There is only one thing that can be done when this album has finished, put it on again! (ProgArchives) "
Recorded by Thierry Payssan and Jean Paul Trombert. Mixed at studio Vital Musique.
"Excellent work ! The band has absolutely different and unique sound. I have never heard such suit vocals (here are two or more lead vocalist, one of them is a woman). Numerous guitar solos under polyphonic piano passages makes the sound really nice. When I listen to this album I always want to smile for beautiful vocals that have bands members. Don't miss to listen to this almost masterpiece work. (progarchives.com)"

In 1994, programm featured HALLOWEEN, KALABAN, ECHOLYN, ANGLAGARD, EPISODE, ANEKDOTEN, GIRAFFE, MINIMUM VITAL & SEBASTIAN HARDIE.
All these bands are featured on the double CD "Progfest 1994", with an average 15 to 20mn track duration for each.
Sound quality is superb, helped in some tracks with the skills of Jean-Pascal Boffo."
